Visit to old abandoned or semi-abandoned pueblosbutton text list element 2Abandoned or semi-abandoned old towns always tend to have a certain interest because in them we can see first-hand what the houses were like and how past generations lived. In the case of Colinas we have good examples, Coucellin Besapié or Curriellos are some of them, all of them are in a state of semi-abandonment and with one or no inhabitant. We will be able to reach everyone both by car and on foot, this second option being more interesting due to the landscape that can be seen since part of the route is shared with the aforementioned Hospitals route. The towns are located in an enclave of great interest, surrounded by large mountains and lush vegetation that recall the times when trees covered the slopes of the mountains.

Visit to the carbayo de Valentín (13 km from the hostel)button text list element 3The council of Tineo has always been a benchmark in terms of nature, be it for its forests, mountains, rivers, etc. In this case we focus on one of its trees, famous for its age and size. The so-called Carbayo de Valentin, so called because it is located in the town of Valentín, next to the chapel of San Pedro. The specimen stands out not so much for its height (about 16 meters), but for the width of its trunk, reaching a maximum perimeter of 10 meters. Its antiquity has been determined by its diameter and has been corroborated by ancient writings prior to the discovery of America in which it is already mentioned, so it is understood that at that time it already had dimensions large enough to be named.

The Camino Primitico crosses the two streams that run on both sides of the hill of Colinas, streams that we avoided jumping from stone to stone. We are lucky to have a neighbor, a renowned dry stone artist (Pepe Satorno), who selflessly embellished the steps with bridges and recovered the lost source of Mal Tiempo.
